Upgrading

If you're running a version of Daisho older than 3.0.3 and you wish to upgrade, you'll need to do this manually. A lot of core dependencies were changed which means the online can not be done. Luckily, the process is quick and easy.

You should download the latest version of Daisho which you can find on our download page.

As a safety measure, we also suggest that you back up your current installation of Daisho in the unlikely event that something goes wrong during the upgrade.

Performing a Simple Backup

Everything Daisho needs to run resides in the Daisho installation folder - typically C:\Program Files\Daisho Blacksmith\. Making a backup is as simple as either copying the contents of the folder to another location or compressing the folder into a zip file and storing that in another location.

Once you have made a copy of all your files, you can start with the upgrade.

Uninstall Daisho

To uninstall Daisho, select Start > Programs > Daisho > Uninstall. Alternatively, you could navigate to the Daisho installation folder - typically C:\Program Files\Daisho Blacksmith - and run the uninstall.exe file. Follow the prompts until the uninstallation is complete.

To ensure that no parts of the older version of Daisho exist, navigate to the Daisho installation directory - again typically C:\Program Files\Daisho Blacksmith - and make sure the following folders have been removed:

  • features
  • plugins
  • configuration

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that you leave the following folders in place:

  • db
  • workspace

These folders contain your data and preferences.

Once you've finished uninstalling Daisho, you can simply install the new version on the same location. Follow the instructions on the at the top of this page.
